Pete Rose- A Figment of our imagination or not- Barry Bonds is getting the royal treatment - Does Pete deserve anything or are his dues paid in full?

Pete Rose, who retired from baseball in 1986, has the career record for hits at 4,256. No other player in the history of baseball has more combined singles, doubles, triples or home runs than he.

Pete Rose , manager of the Cincinnati Reds in 1987 and 1988, broke one of the clearest and most sacred rules of baseball, Rule 21; he not only bet on baseball but on his own team.

After an extensive investigation Rose was banned from baseball for life in 1989. He applied for reinstatement eight years later in 1997 but current Commissioner of Baseball Bud Selig has yet to rule on the request. Since he was ousted, Rose had consistently denied any wrongdoing.
Rose admits guilt
All that changed on Monday with Rose's admission, published in a new book entitled "My Prison Without Bars," that yes, he bet on baseball. Rose describes a meeting with Selig in November 2002 in which he was asked if he had bet on baseball.

I did bet on baseball!

How often, he replied, "Four or five times a week. However, I never bet against my own team, and I never made any bets from the clubhouse." Pete was an all around player- continually smashing records, but the fans, in my opinion came to see P. Rose steal bases head first. (110% Fearless) I will describe the base stealing in full, and please do not forget the man who deserves to be in the hall of fame; he never bet against his team
(The Cincinnati Reds)

STOLEN BASE (SB): Once on base, fast-running players will try to steal a base - normally from first to second, as second base is the furthest throw for the catcher to make from behind home plate.

Donnie Sadler of the Texas Rangers steals second base against Cleveland Stealing base adds a sudden burst of flare to a game-
The player on base starts running as soon as the pitcher begins his action. If the pitcher attempts to break his action by throwing to base instead of the plate it is called a balk, which advances players on base.

The player attempts to beat the catcher's throw to the second baseman or shortstop (the two fielders who defend the middle of the infield).

SBs are important because if a player gets to second base he can normally get home for a run on a base hit.

A pitcher can try to stop people stealing bases by keeping them close to first base.

The runner will try to get a good head start by going as far from first base as he can.

If a pitcher can throw the ball to the first baseman before the runner gets back to the bag, the fielder can tag the him out. This is called a pick off.
RUNS BATTED IN (RBI): After batting averages, this is the most important batting stat. You get an RBI every time you enable someone to score.

So, if you hit a home run you get one because you have scored. If you get hit by the pitch when the bases are loaded (players on first, second and third), you get an RBI as everyone has to move around one base. If you hit a home run with the bases loaded (a grand slam) you get four RBIs.

Is the Harley Davidson Motorcycle what they were 10 years ago?

I went down to a Harley Davidson store with a few friends to test drive them awhile back. I must say that they are, in most aspects, better than they were 10(ten) years ago. We spent most of the day testing various bikes and, with out a doubt in my mind, Harley Davidson is still the bike (period). They are more comfortable; more linear, and by far the bike the women love to buzz around on.
I had a 68' S.Head years ago -A show bike- which meant that I was always explaining customs and talking about my bike which meant never never riding it, except for short loads and unloads.
After riding with my friends, I really forgot how much that I missed the Harley.

I strongly encourage a Harley Davidson Motorcycle; for fun, show, or making your neighbors envious-
Most of all, I recommend getting a Harley for the pure freedom that one fills- Like an Eagle soaring to its own path-
